How to build an A321 from Scratch

Here’s a little goodie for the German speaking part of this community:

In 1999, a German TV show for children (Die Sendung mit der Maus) showed how an Airbus A321 is build. What’s special about this, is that they actually show the process from the very beginning, starting with the very first metal plate.

The documentary can be found on YouTube. The videos are only available in German, but even if you don’t understand anything, it’s interesting to watch.

10 years later, they showed how a D-Check is beeing done, on the same plane. Also very interesting to watch.

Do you know another website where I can find the video besides youtube? I am hoping to run across english sub captions somewhere.

I’m afraid I don’t. And because this is 19 years old, I don’t think it’s anywhere to be found with English subtitles. 😐

I was hoping this topic contained a DIY guide… so disappointed. 😝

Me too. Maybe then I could build a private A321 😂

All you need is a big hangar, some metal, two or three rolls of duct tape and the right amount of imagination mixed with a few MacGyver skills.

But in case you don’t have enough duct tape around, you can always start with this:

Revell is a really good brand, I have been building those since I was 10. I also just finished an a350 Lufthansa livery.

Same. But my local airports runway would be waaaay too short for an A321.Side note A321 is pretty much 1234 spelt backwards.

Well, looks like the A321 is the easiest to build. Who knew?

Now we don’t have to spend a fortune on an airplane XD

Haha, same here ¯\ _(ツ)_/¯

The documentary intrigued me the most. Airbus I guess shows the public behind their joystick cockpits / advanced technology aboard the aircraft.
