Approach Control Tutorial-Episode 3

#1

The ILS approach is a precision approach allowing aircraft to utilize their instruments in low visibility situations, taking them right down to the touchdown point every time. The ILS approach requires precise instructions from the Approach Controller to ensure the aircraft can intercept the ILS!

In Episode 3 we’ll talk about the Radar Pattern and the Intercept for an ILS approach. It’s important to note that an ILS approach clearance must be given with no more than a 30 degree intercept. Enjoy!
